Five years ago, KLH Engineers began to redefine the value and role of the consulting engineer. The consulting engineer of tomorrow simply cannot continue to create waste by developing schematic floor plans and book specifications. They need to support downstream contractors by providing data-rich deliverables that have the flexibility to support alternative construction strategies and progressive project delivery models. This presentation covers KLH’s transformation from traditional consulting engineering firm to a technology company in support of the contractor’s effort to create the built environment. It will highlight how KLH practices engineering in the increasingly industrialized, data-rich world of construction, and cover the firm’s diversification that allows their innovation to impact the project, and industry at-large, in disruptive ways.
