Trimble joins buildingSMART’s Strategic Advisory Council

Ever since 2004, Trimble has been a supporter of buildingSMART International and continues to show its commitment by now joining buildingSMART’s Strategic Advisory Council (SAC).

What is buildingSMART’s Strategic Advisory Council?

The SAC’s goal is to help shape the future of the building industry by not only providing critical guidance and feedback, but to also give input in developing standards and solutions. It consists of a group of members who meet regularly to execute on and further develop the core mission and values of the buildingSMART community.

Christopher Keating, Vice President of Trimble Construction’s Design & Engineering Software Group, commented about joining the SAC:

“The move to become a Strategic Member reflects Trimble’s strong commitment to the digital transformation of the construction industry based on open, international standards. We look forward to continuing our involvement with buildingSMART International in the development and improvement of open standards, jointly working towards a truly connected construction industry.”

buildingSMART International’s Chief Executive, Richard Petrie, is also cherishing Trimble becoming part of the Strategic Advisory Council:

“Trimble has been a consistent, long-term supporter both as an early member and throughout the development of projects. I am delighted that they are stepping up to Strategic Membership. The whole community recognises their leadership qualities and vision, which I acknowledge as being vitally important as technologies and expertise align to transform the built asset industry. This demonstrates the vision that by working together organisations can build a better future for our industry, I fully anticipate that Trimble will play a leading role.”
