What’s New With Trimble LiveCount Digital Takeoff Software

Trimble LiveCount™ cloud-based digital takeoff software is designed to help electrical contractors create estimates faster, easier, and more accurately. Taking off drawings is probably the most time-consuming part of an estimator's job. That’s why each month, we introduce new features and improvements to our LiveCount software to help save you time and make takeoff a breeze – or at least a bit less tedious!

Here are some of the recently released features that highlight how LiveCount keeps getting better.

Key New Features

  • Collaborate more effectively - LiveCount is now integrated with Trimble Connect, a cloud-based common data environment (CDE) and collaboration platform designed specifically for the construction industry. This new integration enables greater collaboration and simplifies sharing project information with colleagues and other stakeholders.

  • Organize Your Drawings - Leveraging the Trimble Connect File Management System, the new LiveCount Document Manager provides a single location to store files related to a given project. The folder structure makes it easy to organize drawings and other project-related documents and, because it’s built on Trimble Connect, you can easily share key project details with colleagues and stakeholders. Watch the video to see how it works.

Speed up Pre-Takeoff Setup with Auto Renaming - Using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, LiveCount now offers users the ability to automatically rename drawings in a plan set. This significantly speeds up the pre-takeoff setup process and provides consistent, logical naming of the drawing sheets for easier organization and use. Watch the video to see how fast and easy it is to rename drawings in LiveCount.

Additional Enhancements

  • Easily Identify Changes Between Drawing Versions: The Drawing Compare function has been enhanced so you can customize coloration and set the transparency for each drawing when creating a Saved Overlay.  This makes it easier to identify changes between drawing versions and helps ensure greater accuracy.

  • Higher Maximum Zoom Level: You can now set the maximum zoom level - up to 1200% - to help identify finer details within a drawing and thereby improve takeoff accuracy. This capability is especially useful for solar and renewable energy projects.

  • Job Styles Improvement - You can now add an existing Company Style to an existing job. This provides time savings and is especially useful when the Company Style has been created AFTER you’ve already begun a job. It’s now quick and easy to update your Job Style with just a click of a button.
