Simplify cross-team collaboration with IES Virtual Environment import in Stabicad

Stabicad now allows importing IES VE files to enrich mechanical models with building calculation data.

The IES Virtual Environment (VE) is an integrated analysis tool for the design and retrofit of buildings. It leverages a simulation engine to allow cross-team collaboration between architects, engineers, and contractors by embedding energy and performance analysis into the design, build, and maintain phases of a building’s lifecycle.

Stabicad users will now be able to use Stabicad to design the HVAC systems according to the IES VE loads directly in Revit, meaning that they will now:

  • Have the tools for fast, accurate, sub-hourly, and thermal building simulation of any size or complexity.

  • Be able to quickly and easily load calculations and equipment sizing from the earliest design stages.

  • Interoperate with BIM platforms for two-way information exchange and quick digital design.

Through the ability to import IES VE data into their model, designers can make more sustainable, energy-efficient choices in building designs. Also, the use of the IES VE files allows for gaining ongoing insight into the building's energy performance during its use. Watch the video below to learn more about the integration, or visit the Stabicad product page to learn how Stabicad can help you improve your efficiency in Revit.
