International Youth Day 2022

On August 12th we’re celebrating International Youth Day. No better day to introduce our (former) interns to you and put them in the spotlight. Thank you (ex) interns, for the great time we have/had together, for introducing new ideas and sharing your views with us.

Find out more about Alexandra, Cynthia, Lisa and Yasmine here:

First and last name: Alexandra Girbea

 Position: Global Junior WebMaster

What has been your evolution in the group?

I found it pretty easy to get along with the group and to feel like I’m a part of it. What’s great about the working environment here is that a team is not just a name, we really do things together and jump in when somebody needs help. You never felt weird asking for help or saying what comes in your mind. I am more open now since working here, I can involve my work in the team and say what my work needs are and haha somebody actually listens to me.

What is your fondest memory at Trimble?

I guess my fondest memory at Trimble was our physical team meeting in the Netherlands. Yeah talking everyday in meetings make you feel connected with your colleagues, but meeting them face to face is another kind of experience. Having a meeting with them, and not virtually was so exciting and so easy to do, we had the opportunity to give the feedback more freely and to have a better conversation.

First and last name: Cynthia Pucheanu

Position: Demand Generation Specialist

What is your fondest memory at Trimble?

My dearest memory keeps unfolding every day. It is the way we have each other’s backs and are inclusive and accepting towards each other. We are spread all over the world, yet it feels that we are so close. I can really say I feel sheer joy being part of my team.

What advice would you give to a student going into communication studies:

Try things out and get involved in as many activities outside of school as possible. Communication is a very versatile and fast evolving field and your practical experience will be infinitely more valuable than your theoretical one.

What future do you see for Trimble:

The way the company has managed recent crisis events, as well as the direction we’re going with new sustainability and diversity and inclusion initiatives makes me confident that even when things get hard, Trimble will rise above in a manner that’s responsible and caring towards our colleagues, customers and partners.

First and last name: Lisa Käppeli

Position: Marketing Technology Specialist

What has been your evolution in the group?

I started working at Trimble in 2017 as a Marketing Intern while I was still doing my Bachelor's degree in Communications. After 6 months, I started working full time and moved into the Marketing Ops role in the MEP team, which I stayed in until last June when I changed roles and moved to the corporate team. In 2019 I also started doing a 3-year master’s program in Marketing while working part-time. Throughout my time at Trimble, I was supported in everything I did, whether it was work-related or at university.

What advice would you give to a student going into marketing:

Marketing is so multifaceted ranging from creative jobs in content or design to more technical careers like the one I’m doing. Trying out different things is in my opinion the best way of finding your corner in this very diverse field.

What is your fondest memory at Trimble?

While I was doing my exchange semester in Paris last year, most of my team came to visit me for a weekend. It was so great seeing everyone live again (or sometimes even for the first time) and spending time together away from work.

First and last name: Yasmine van der Weide

Position: Intern ( Content team)

What were you looking for as an internship for your first work experience?

I was approaching the end of my bachelors degree and was not really sure what I wanted to do. I really wanted to experience how it was to work for a big international company, while also learning new things. Before last summer I came in contact with Karolina (Rogoza, Global Content Marketing Manager) who gave me the opportunity to follow an internship in marketing, which was very exciting as I do not necessarily have a marketing background.

What is your fondest memory at Trimble?

Working in such a great team! I have never experienced such a warm welcome and everyone was always open to helping me and each other.

What do you think of your supervision?

What I like about Trimble is that it is not hierarchical at all. I have the feeling that I can talk about everything and also really get listened to. Her at trimble my manager has always give me all the chances to grow and develop the skills I needed and wanted to develop.
