    • Whether your company is a fabricator or install-only shop, Trimble® AutoBid® SheetMetal can help you estimate labor and material costs with speed and ease.

Sheet metal estimators in commercial, industrial and institutional markets across the country rely on the Trimble AutoBid SheetMetal solution to cut takeoff time in half and increase productivity and efficiency throughout the bid process.

As an estimator, you will especially appreciate Trimble AutoBid SheetMetal's customized TakeOff tool, patented on-the-fly fitting algorithm, and pre-built sheet metal assemblies database—just a few of the features designed to help you develop competitive bids.

Once complete, take advantage of Trimble AutoBid SheetMetal’s export features to connect estimating data with leading project management and accounting systems.

  • Features & Benefits
    • Converting Shapes

Box in an area of take-off and convert Rectangular to Round, oval to round, round to oval, round to rectangular, rectangular to oval or oval to rectangular! No other estimating solution can do this!

      Automatic On-the-Fly Fitting Generation

As you take off a duct run, Trimble AutoBid automatically inserts the correct fittings and hangers per your specifications - no wrong fittings, no omissions, no mistakes.

      On-Screen View TakeOff (OSV)

Harness all the power of On-Screen View take-off on your screen. Import drawings into Trimble AutoBid and display them on-screen to perform takeoff directly from electronic drawings. No digitizer table needed and no more bulky paper drawings.

      Assembly Generator and Library

Got a list of items you take off repeatedly? Easily select any group of items (including other assemblies) and convert them to an assembly. Use them in your current bid or save it to your library.

      Accurate Hanger and Attachment Counts

The Trimble AutoBid software calculates the most accurate hangers in the marketplace - competing systems just make an inaccurate guess based on total system length. Because the Trimble AutoBid application knows what pieces of duct and fittings are connected, users will get hangers at changes in directions and at user-defined spacing based on duct size and pressure class. Attachments are also correctly picked up based on structure, vertical members and elevation.

      Automatic Joint Configuration

Joint connections and reinforcing are automatically generated based on the chosen spec and pressure class.

      Automatic Correction Factors

Easily adjust your labor - across a project or on a specific item - to address additional labor requirements. Correction factors are also applied based on elevation.

From 304 Stainless Steel to PVC Coated, ABSM comes preloaded with easily customizable SMACNA based Duct Construction Standards as well as an extensive library of duct accessories, componentry and purchased items.

      Comprehensive Reporting

See the data they way you want with flexible reporting capabilities. Choose from a variety of predefined report formats. Compare fabricated costs to purchased costs as well!

      Rapid Reports

The innovative Rapid Reports pivot table allows you to view your estimate many ways. The Excel data can also be used to export to third party software or to develop your own final estimate spreadsheet. Rapid reports can even be customized!

      Labor Adjustment Worksheet

The job is taken off, but you haven't adjusted the labor to represent the productivity of your company? Use the Labor Adjustment Worksheet to look at the project by scopes or material specs and easily adjust the labor without modifying the takeoff.

      Value Engineering

Quickly make changes to your specifications to generate value engineering options. Change duct and pressure class specs including material type, joint type and insulation to create cost-savings proposals for your clients. Convert Shapes like Rectangular to Round.

      Global Search & Replace

Mistakes happen, and clients change their minds. With flexible search & replace functionality, you can quickly change everything from item settings to scale to material types on an entire drawing or select pieces.

      User-Defined Scopes

This powerful tool allows you to break out your project any way you want with user-definable scope fields such as zone, area or system symbol. You can filter TakeOff by your scope fields to generate focused reports or create alternates.

      Multiple-User Estimating

Multiple users can work on a single bid simultaneously.

      Multiple TakeOff Methods

Whatever takeoff method you need, we've got it: graphical digitized, standard digitized, on-screen, Smart Menu™ by GTCO, keyboard, and mouse.

      Multiple Labor Books

Labor any way you want - by joint, pound, length, area, piece or each - and easily compare different labor methods with up to eight customizable labor books. Ships with SMACNA Labor Tables.
Mobile TakeOff    We know you can't always work from your office.  Check out a license and use On-Screen View or Mouse TakeOff remotely!

      Data Export Wizard

Instantly share mission-critical project data throughout your organization. Eliminate redundant data entry and human error with direct export of estimate data to Microsoft® Project, Oracle® Primavera®, Dexter + Chaney, Timberline, and many other leading project management and accounting applications.

      Data Import from DuctDesigner 3D®

Seamlessly import drawings from Trimble DuctDesigner 3D CAD software to calculate project costs and catch discrepancies in your estimate and address potential cost overruns - before you start construction.

Data Import or Export to Vulcan

Export to Vulcan for plasma cutting or import from Vulcan to produce an accurate cost estimate.

      Easy, Instant Change Orders

With easy takeoff methods and portable licenses, Trimble AutoBid application gives you the power to put a change order system in the palm of your hands. Easily use report modifiers and correction factors to appropriately adjust costs for job-disrupting change orders.

      Box-In Tool

With our intelligent Graphical TakeOff and On-Screen View TakeOff, the Box-In tool allows estimators to quickly select a group of connected items to make changes, create assemblies, create alternates and much more. Project managers can use this functionality to quickly select project areas to modify reports and generate detailed costs codes, schedules of values, purchase orders, and project schedules.

      User Management

Maintain data and project integrity with our user-based security settings that allow you to control who can modify your company settings.
